The Dulaang Unibersidad ng Pilipinas (DUP) previewed director Dexter M. Santos’ “The Kundiman Party“, a play honoring defiance and calling for resistance, Monday at the Wilfrido Ma. Guerrero Theater in UP Diliman.
The play follows the character of Maestra Adela, a classical kundimanperformer, who returns from retirement to once again show the power of art against tyranny. Joining her are her colleagues, the titular party, as they brace the new generation with the old art of the kundiman.
