RED paints the College of Fine Arts Student Council (CFA SC) elections after all positions were notched by candidates from Student Alliance for the Advancement of Democratic Rights in UP (STAND UP).
Incumbent local councilor Danna Mhae Espinosa will lead next year’s student council with 250 votes, placing her in the top seat against 41 abstain votes.
Kevin Angel Barrameda of STAND UP also won as CFA rep to the University Student Council (USC), the only position with opposing candidates, the other being Nagkakaisang Iskolar para sa Pamantasan at Sambayanan (KAISA UP)’s Jeremiah Velmonte.
Three years before, Espinosa said Facilitators of Educational Development Uniting People (FED UP), a KAISA-affiliated local party, dominated the council.
Gearing up for next year’s leadership, Espinosa also said there will be more cultural talks and exposure to the art scene.
“Tayo dito sa FA tuloy lang ang laban natin na i-raise…‘yung awareness,” she said. “Hindi hiwalay ang national issues sa issue natin.”
She added basic mass exposures will be done more, saying that art should not be confined within the college.
