The University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Lady Maroons found themselves fading in the shadow of the powerhouse National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs in a lopsided 34-109 loss, in the UAAP Season 82 Women’s Basketball Tournament, Wednesday, at SMART Araneta Coliseum.

UP had a cold outing and stumbled on the hot shooting of the Lady Bulldogs to finish the match under a 75-point deficit.

The Lady Maroons was unable to penetrate the stingy defense of the Lady Bulldogs, forcing the Diliman-based squad to deliver only 12 field goals and to commit 51 turnovers.

The rampage of the Lady Bulldogs continued in the second half after a 27-14 run in the third frame left State U’s deficit balloon to 49 points, 29-78.

State U then surrendered in the fourth canto after a 31-5 blast of the Lady Bulldogs, 34-109.

All jerseys in the Maroons were limited in single digit, with Lulu Ordoveza leading UP in defeat at eight points and four rebounds.

Powering the historic 92-winning streak for the Lady Bulldogs was Camille Clarin with 20 points.

The Lady Maroons still hope to conclude the season on a high note as they go against the De La Salle University (DLSU) on Sunday at Ynares Center Antipolo.
