The University of the Philippines continued with their slump after suffering a 67-53 loss at the hands of Adamson University in the UAAP Men’s Basketball Tournament Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

It was the 17th straight loss of the Fighting Maroons, who last won in Season 75 during their first round encounter against University of the East.

Despite falling behind by 11 at halftime, 35-24, the Katipunan-based squad found their rhythm coming to within three, 36-39, midway in the third frame.

But the Soaring Falcons flexed their might and pulled ahead by 10, 48-38, entering the pay-off period.

They were never threatened from then on.

Nigerian center Ingrid Sewa displayed a dominant outing with 18 points and 15 rebounds while forward Roider Cabrera and Guard Jansen Rios chipped in 17 and 16 markers, respectively, to lead Adamson.

Center Raul Soyud was the lone double digit scorer for the Fighting Maroons who scattered 17 points to go with 14 rebounds, five blocks, two assists and two steals.

UP is now 0-10 in the season and will next face NU on Wednesday, 2pm at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
