A lady guard was stabbed by two unidentified suspects while on duty early Thursday morning at the Sampaguita Dormitory.
The incident occurred between 2:00 to 3:00 am, according to reports from the adjacent Kamia Dormitory.
The security guard, whose name is being withheld by authorities, was confronted by two men who forcibly dragged her to a nearby construction site. She was stabbed on the neck and on the head after an attempt to fight back. Immediately after, the suspects left the area.
She is currently admitted at the UP Health Service. Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Ma. Corazon Tan advised the public to respect the victim’s privacy and refrain from disturbing her while she is still recovering.
“UP is ensuring that she is being given the best care possible and that the perpetrators will be made accountable for the crime,” Tan said.
Police investigation is still ongoing and the motive of the attack remains unclear. The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and the UP Diliman Police have yet to release statements on the incident.
