[EDITORIAL] Like father, like son: The bloody trail of disappearances continues

Even though 51 years have passed since martial law was declared, the late dictator’s legacy of killings and enforced disappearances continues to haunt voices of dissent at present.

With another Marcos in power, the uncomfortable parallels between then and now are indeed impossible to ignore. As before, those who dare to fight for human rights are still being picked out like a pebble in a dictator’s shoe.

EDITORIAL: Debt-defying

That an ordinary Filipino can live and die without ever seeing even 1% of the staggering ten billion dollars that the Marcoses stole should not be surprising.

But when the Marcoses doubled that amount in debt, they condemned millions of Filipinos to a lifetime of paying off what they can never benefit from, much less imagine.
