UP Women’s Chess team continues dominance; Men’s team fails to shake off slump

The University of the Philippines Women’s Chess team bagged back to back victories in the fifth and sixth rounds of the UAAP Season 76 Chess Tournament.

The University of the Philippines Women’s Chess team bagged back to back victories in the fifth and sixth rounds of the UAAP Season 76 Chess Tournament.

The Lady Maroons took a firm hold at the second place with 17 points after dominating University of the East and Adamson University scoring 4-0 and 3-1, respectively.

De La Salle University remains at the first place in the women’s category with 19.5 points.

Meanwhile, the Men’s team remained at sixth place with eight points as they succumbed to Far Eastern University and University of Santo Tomas anew with a score of 2.5-1.5 and 0-4.0, respectively.

The Men’s Team will next face Ateneo de Manila University while the women’s will square off with De La Salle University on Saturday.
